- Lower Finish Floor Elevation Than All Other Floors
- Completely sealed system
- No Crawl or Void Space Issues
- No organic materials in the system
 |
Plumbing installation and grading are
identical to slab on grade preparation. |
| Interlocking Dynavoid panels are Installed directly over the sub grade |
 |
 |
Rebar is installed with plastic chairs directly over the Dynavoid eliminating the need for wood or metal deck to support the pour. |
| Finally, 6” of 4000 psi concrete is poured over the Dynavoid, completely sealing the void space. |

Concrete Over Void Form Floor
System Benefits:
General Description:
The floor is constructed by placing 6”, 8” or 10” “Dynavoid” over the basement sub grade. The void material will not collapse due to snow or rain making it an excellent all-weather material.
The reinforcing steel is placed directly over the void material and chaired up to the proper elevation.
Rebar dowels are drilled and epoxyed into the foundation walls at 16” on center at mid depth of the
slab.
The thickness of the concrete slab is 6” producing a total section depth of 6” plus the depth of the void material.
Materials:
Void Form: 6”, 8” or 10” tall non CFS inert closed cell expanded polystyrene
Dynavoid material as manufactured by Beaver Plastics. Material is non-toxic and hypo-allergenic with a mechanically controlled rate of collapse.
Concrete & Rebar: 6” regular weight concrete with #4 rebar @ 16” O.C. each way with #4 rebar dowels drilled into foundation wall at 16” O.C.
Design Criteria:
Dead Load: 75#/sf, Live Load 40#/sf
Deflection: Negligible
Void Space Access: None. Floor is completely sealed similar to a slab on grade. |
